Whilst our HQ is based in the UK, there are lots of places across the world we’re fortunate enough to call home, creating fantastic opportunities for our people to explore, learn and grow.
This year, we’ve had two members of the team jet off to set up shop in our global offices. A few weeks have passed and they’ve settled into their new environments, so we’ve taken a moment to check in with our Senior Account Manager, Evie Clegg, who has been taking on the Big Apple, and Group Account Director, Imogen Blackwood, who is down under.
Over to Evie and Imogen…
What's different about working in NYC?
Evie: Being a morning person... Working with the UK team means my diaries are always busy from the moment I wake up until the UK team logs off. The perk is I get so much more time to get my head down and get ahead for the next day in my afternoons.
What's different about working in Sydney?
Imogen: Even though its 'Winter' here the weather is still lovely, walking to work in the morning with just a T-shirt on, but also being able to get great coffee almost at every other shop!
Has anything surprised you about your experience so far?
Evie: I think I've surprised myself in how quickly I’ve climatised to the new city and environment. I was concerned of how the new city and time zone would affect my work. It was definitely a steep learning curve those first couple days (especially when you add jet lag) but I think I've found my rhythm with it now which is great.
Imogen: How easy it's been transitioning to living in Sydney. I was worried because it was so far away, but it has so many similarities to London.
Have you found anything difficult?
Evie: Being somewhere where you know no one has definitely had its challenges, but I love that it’s pushed me out of my comfort zone.
Imogen: Similar to Evie, not knowing anyone, particularly on the weekends can be challenging. However, it just forces you to get up and explore.
What's your fave moment been?
Evie: Just being in New York. Do I walk around feeling like I’m in a movie about 90% of the time? Absolutely.
Imogen: Ohhh there have been so many! Obviously, there is the production of the latest brand campaign I’ve worked on. However, anything to do with the team here has been so wonderful. They are just the kindest, nicest group of people and I continue to laugh every day when I am with them.
