Context

Speedo is an internationally recognised leader in swimming equipment and apparel, renowned for combining performance, innovation and design.

When launching the Biofuse 2.0 swimming goggles, Speedo partnered with us to create a premium CGI infographic animation that would showcase the technology behind the product in a way that traditional photography and video simply couldn't. Our goal was to transform complex engineering into a visually engaging story, highlighting the features, materials and innovation that make the Biofuse 2.0 stand out, while helping customers understand exactly what they're paying for.

Creative

The end goal was to create an animation of the product slowly rotating, with the camera zooming in on key features while informative callouts highlighted the technology that set the goggles apart from the competition.

As part of the animation, we also created an "exploded view", separating the product into its individual layers to reveal exactly how each component fits together and contributes to the overall design.

To make this possible, Speedo sent us a real pair of the goggles, which we carefully dismantled so we could study every internal component. This allowed us to build an accurate 3D model in 3ds Max and recreate each material with a high level of realism. The result was imagery so convincing that it became difficult to tell where the real product ended and the CGI began.

This project is a great example of how CGI can make the impossible possible. Creating an exploded view like this simply isn't achievable with traditional photography or video, at least not without an enormous budget and significant time. With CGI, we were able to tell the product's story in a way that's both visually engaging and technically informative.
